She is a Swiss former venture capital investor who helped finance and launch over two dozen startups at SOSV.

She began her undergrad at ETH Zurich, quickly starting to rethink the way we do science, a slow process. She moved countries to be among the first students of a new field with one vision: turning biology into software to solve hard problems.

She has earned a dual PhD from Imperial College London and the University of Hong Kong for developing cancer-fighting 'nano-bots' at the intersection of code and biology. Prior to that, she received an MRes in Systems & Synthetic Biology and built a chaotic genetic oscillator out of molecular parts to study cancer in a new way.

Her insights on what's next have been featured by TEDx, New Statesman, deVolkskrant, Arab News, RedBull Media, and Silicon Republic has named her as one of top 20 leading women in her field.

Today, Elsa has skin in the game as managing partner at a family office capturing growth from early-stage breakthroughs where science fiction becomes reality.

She delivers keynotes for leaders including Invesco, MSD, Gilead Sciences or SBM Offshore and has consulted for a leading Chinese tech company and the WHO.

Her work has hit the Amazon bestseller list and earned literary recognition from Writers of the Future in L.A. and the international Young Storyteller Award. She has written for Singularity Hub and O'Reilly's BioCoder and has contributed to a well-received BBC Sci-Fi Drama. Before focusing on fiction, she has published 20+ poems in German literary magazines (positive critic review).
